It appears that I have run into the same bug that many others have
also run into with IB and table views. I would assume that this is
not news to Apple and that the good folks there are working to remedy
the problem. Would anyone happen to have any detailed information on
what to avoid and when the issue might be resolved in IB? I'd really
like to be able to use table views in IB...
BTW, thanks to everyone who has helped me out with this. It is
reassuring to know that there is a strong community of developers out
there willing to help each other out.
We have fixed, it the workaround for now is to not set the autosave
name for a table view (or outline view) in IB.

Tried that and got no further than with the original nib. What is it
that would be causing this problem?

Hey all:
I just ran across a very odd behavior. I made some changes to me
MainMenu.nib, hooked up all the appropriate connections, saved the
nib
and exited IB. Figuring out that I forgot to create the files for a
new class, I went back into IB and nothing appears, no instances, no
classes and more importantly no windows. WTF? Anyone have any idea
how I can recover the last couple of hours worth of work? I have
spent
a while searching the archive, but nothing suggested there has
seemed
to help.
TIA!
Try loading MainMenu~.nib
That is a backup file, it may have enough stuff for you to go on...
