NSMailDelivery- 4 questions

1) Suppose +deliverMessage:headers:format:protocol: is returns a result of NO. Then what? How can I get information about what the error message was? I have one particular user of my app for whom this message routinely fails for. I don't think /var/log/mail.log is the answer, because that's just for sendmail. And if there is an SMTP server in the user's preferences, then OS X in going to SMTP right to it, and not mess with sendmail at all. Correct?

2) It seems that +hasDeliveryClassBeenConfigured returns NO when there is no SMTP server specified in System Prefs:Internet:EMail. Other settings like username, password, and email address don't seem to effect this status. It would make sense... Does this match what other people are seeing?

3) How can I lookup the user's email address as entered on the Internet:Email preferences panel?

4) Does OS X ever sync up that email address with the ME record in Address Book?

Thanks,
