Cocoa-Dev List Administrivia

Hi, All.

As some of you already know, Heather Hickman has passed the Cocoa-Dev listmom duties on to me (mostly because I read the list almost every day, and she'd rather not deal with the 1000+ daily bounce messages ;-) Heather became the first listmom of Cocoa-Dev, back when she was the Cocoa evangelist. Thanks, Heather!

Let me just mention something regarding moderation of the list. It would appear that every spammer in the world *really* wants to talk to all of us, but fortunately, their posts get held for moderator approval since few spammers actually bother to subscribe to lists they're trying to abuse.

Regrettably, this also means that it's not really practical for me to sift through the spam attempts to find any legitimate messages and approve them. On any given day, there's likely to be two or three good posts from people who accidentally sent their message to the list from the wrong account.

So, if you've gotten a message from Apple's list server saying that your message to Cocoa-Dev is being held for moderator approval, it's probably never going to get approved. Please re-send it from an account that's subscribed to the list.

Thanks,

-jcr
