Hi,
I have been wrestling with this problem on and off for about two weeks
and I am unable to find an answer.
The problem: Text is selected in TextEdit and then dragged on to my
application icon. How do I (can I?) get the application to respond to
this?
I can get this to work with files by using 'Document Types' in the
info.plist. etc. I can get it to work with text dragged on to the
application window. However, I can't find a way of getting things to
work for text dragged on to the application icon.
OK, I don't know will work... These beasts are kept on the pasteboard
(the clippings) usually, but they can also be fils. I'm not sure what
the file type is for those though, you'd need to create one and then
dig the file type out of it. Can you register your application to
accept that file type? not sure what you'll get data wise back then
though..
Carbon folks, this is where you can pipe up about how clippings are
handled!
