Well, _I'd_ say you can safely start with Objective-C directly and pick up what you need in C on the way.

Obviously you'll need to know the basics like loops, conditionals etc.
But some of the more obscure things might only distract from the 'pure' OO way of programming. :)

Take a quick look at pointers anyway, since that is what you'll use when dealing with objects.
