Hi Erika,

yet another advice when other does not work.

A blind people have to solve a similar problem very often, especially when they study an university. They can read electronic documents but not a printed one. Try to find some blind student (non-profit organization) near you and ask him for advice or help. I know they have found good solutions.

Kinko's must be American; I have never heard of it :-\ Sounds like the name of a nightclub in Kings Cross :->

Have them cut off the spine of the book, then laminate/seal the pages (this may be expensive), then attach them to a spiral notebook or such. Except for the lamination, my wife does this quite frequently (for Opera scripts, but no matter).

Thanks for your suggestion Karl, but I don't think I could tolerate the plastic fumes from the laminating any better than the ink fumes from the pages themselves. It would also result in a book far too heavy for me to manage. A couple of people suggested I write to the authors of the books asking them if they could help me, so I've done that.
