See if the Cocoa EOF (bundled in WO5.1/5.2) preview license is suitable for you.

While Java is both a language and a framework, Objective C is just a language...
So, does *Cocoa* have built in support for accessing data using SQL? It used to, via EOF, but Apple stripped out that part of the frameworks and made it availavle only in WebObjects, and only using Java.
That said, if you look in the mailing list archives you will find a couple of third party frameworks for db access in Cocoa applications using Objective C.
