There's a 6. case.

And 7. in my experience:

There's an issue which has been in Mac OS X since 10.2.0, reported numerous times by numerous people, "fixed" in each minor update up to 10.2.6 but is somehow still present.

You take the time to write a simple (30-line) test-case to showcase the bug, which causes at least three different out-of-the-box configurations to become unusable within seconds.

You submit the bug report to Apple, who uncharacteristically deal with it in days, rather than months or years as they normally would.

You get back the result "cannot reproduce".

You ask them what kind of hardware the test case functions correctly on.

They reopen the bug, and don't talk to you again for months...

Not that I'm bitter, twisted or annoyed or anything.
