System independent networking for cocoa apps?

  • Subject: System independent networking for cocoa apps?

Howdy y'all,
I'm developing right now a networking cocoa app, but ultimately I want
to put out a version which runs on Windows and can network with
cocoa-made versions of the app. I've been looking at various types of
objective-c networking, but I just am not sure if the underlying
protocols, underneath layers of mac abstraction, are system
independent, like netsprocket. Netsprocket itself is not
object-oriented, as one needs for cocoa (or so I presume).

Anyone know of any source of information on cocoa networking which uses
system independent protocols for networking?

-Trevor
