Seriously, after following this list for about two years now, I
agree with you, that the docs seem to be a seriousd problem for many
people. Or is it that the readers of the docs are the actual
problem? Ever so many questions asked on this list are completely
unnecessary if the poster had just read the docs carefully! Maybe it
really is due to better documentation architectures out there which
I have never used that "spoil" people.


My personal issue with Cocoa/Carbon development is that the document tree containing API references is not intuitive and the tools available for finding things in this document tree are pitiful - at least when compared to whats available for other platforms.

Using a web browser to cruise this tree is no fun at all, really.

That said, what I wouldn't give for a complete Cocoa/Carbon API reference in 'man' format ... but until then, inspecting the Framework header files (and their wonderful paths) is about as good as it gets.
