PS With my apologies to all people that were looking for Cocoa

Rather than going to the trouble to start a separate "talk" list,
could we just refrain from replying to the entire list if a discussion
goes off on a non-Cocoa tangent? If individuals involved in such a
discussion hit upon something they think is of general interest, they
can always move the dialog back to the entire list.
No, that won't work. If a thread moves back to the list after a hiatus,
there will be a gap in the context and no history for those on the
list. There will be a bunch of responses that will be redundant for
those who were in the off-list discussion.
Also, you're stuck with the small group of respondents who collectively
took it off-list. No new blood, and the on-listers won't be able to
weigh in when the discussion turns to something they want to contribute
on.
