Re-reading my own response, I already regret the amount of
flame-stoking I put into my own message. Let me just apologize in
advance to Jeff. It's not appropriate for me to load my response to
you with such sharp statements.
Nonetheless, I hope you get my point, which is that it's really
reaching for you to judge so matter-of-factly that the intentions of
the poster were necessarily illegal. I guess I have a hot-spot for
this kind of moralizing on a programmer's list.

As for legality, I think the courts are a better source of guidance
than your flip condemnation. From your lack of specificity, I doubt
you have any true reason to believe that "soulseek" is illegal, but as
it is somehow relates to "file sharing," it fits the bill as a target
for your righteous witch hunting.
Ciao,

I don't want to start a flame war, but from the way you describe it,
it sounds like you're trying to find somebody to help you do
something that's both illegal and immoral. I hope that's a completely
wrong impression. You might consider dropping a note to the list to
clarify your position.

This is call to all you cocoa developers who have ever wanted to
easily download mp3's on the mac. There was a project started some
time ago that began the development of a cocoa Soulseek client but
it has since been abandoned. It was left near finished and I am
calling out to anyone who would want to take this project onto
himself. Last I heard, downloads were mostly functional and the
interface was being tweaked into coolness...
If any of you were looking for such a project... it is part of the
GPL and any information can be found through the mailing list.

Someone please pick up this project... you'd be my hero!
P.S. I don't mean to spam or anything... this is a one time
request...
Sincerely Michael Schmid
