While this wasn't quite what I wanted, I was able to manually approximate the mouse tracking done on buttons in tables by adjusting this from my mouseDragged: method, thanks! If anyone knows how I'm really supposed to do this (what do NSTableView and NSControl do?), I'd still be interested, though, as I'd love to be able to work with other cells as well.
