Which alternate row color spec is correct?

With iTunes, the first row (at the top) is colored and the second white.

With Safari, the first row is white and the second colored.

With Sherlock, the first row is colored and the second white (Mac OS X 10.2)

With Sherlock, the first row is white and the second colored (from what I've seen on some snapshots on the Web)

With Xcode, the first one is colored and the second is white (As can be seen on Apple's web site after making a little computation on the number of pixels between the scrollbar thumb and the scrollbar top)

So which spec is the correct one:

a) Colored and white (e.g. iTunes)
b) White and colored (e.g. Safari)
