I did try this, though not all combinations of it. I've got three splitters
in one window and I did try unpacking all of them and recreating them all
from scratch, but that didn't work. I didn't try changing the types of all
of them. And by type do you mean horizontal/vertical or glossy/Aqua
striped?

I got my nib working again (by restoring a backup from CVS and one by one
adding stuff until it worked) so I can't test this right now, but I'm sure
it wouldn't be hard to get the nib corrupted again.
