If the Mac rumor sites are to be believed, then later this year Apple
will release a suite of stand-alone apps to mostly replace AppleWorks.
Word processing, database, and spreadsheet apps will join Keynote.
Wouldn't this be the perfect way for Apple to introduce a data access
framework through the database app? Much like the addressbook
framework has come to us through Address Book? We may not have EOF,
but maybe Apple will finally give us a built-in framework for data
access?
Just idle speculation on my part. Probably not, though. It might just
make too much sense.
Peace.
