Oh OK, I thought you might just want to assign documents to your app, if 'open with' adds a resource fork to files as Nicholas Riley says, then you might try using resedit to see what it adds and then you can do that yourself in your app. On my web site <http://homepage.mac.com/nathan_day/> I have a Objective-C class for manipulating resource forks, you can use that as an example or as it is.
