Both, and alias-based in some cases - some apps don't have bundle IDs,
and LS also needs to be able to distinguish between versions of apps.
I believe the 'open with' stuff actually adds a resource to the file.
Please file bugs if you need this functionality - there's an
incredible number of functions in LS which are really useful and I
have no idea why they aren't exposed. I really hate using
undocumented API, but it's the only choice at the moment.
