it's not vaguely human, it's a yellowish line at the bottom of an
invisible white square ...

Hi Ian
I'm reading all Oscar's postings with Mail 1.2.5 on OS X 10.2.5
without any problems or side effects
I do notice that Oscar has et up a thumbnail picture of himself ( I
have this on my postings as well)
In my limited understanding of this technology I think I recall that
these pictures are cached locally - on you computer.
Could it be that you have a a picture of Oscar held in a cache
somewhere and that picture is damaged in some way that confuses mail?
(BTW - does my picture work? I changed it months ago and somebody
told me that were still seeing the old version, which was supposed to
be an animation but more often appeared as a yellow line, which is why
I changed it. The correct picture is a photograph that should look
vaguely human)

Hi there List and especially Oscar -
Is there something weird about my out-of-the-box-plus-auto-upgrades
OSX 10.1.5 set-up? Or is there something weird about Mr. Morales's
mailer? Or is their a strange bug in Mail.app? The last seems the
least implausible. Anyway, whenever I make the (for me) mistake of
trying to read one of his postings I get the beachball of death until
I Apple-Option-Escape Mail. I would like to know if I am unique in
this.
