Perhaps. Not having tried to concoct some AppleScript yet to do the icon
positioning (etc) I can't say how hard it actually is.

Sure, it will cost me more in terms of time than just buying some third
party wrapper around the built-in tools, but where's the fun in that? What
would I have learned by buying Filestorm?
