G'Day!
I am releasing a Cocoa multi-document application for capturing, decoding
and analyzing network traffic.
FrameSeer currently supports Ethernet, AirPort, PPPoE, PPP and loopback
interfaces, and uses the System Configuration Framework to continuously
monitor and report on physical network interface state.
The multi-document implementation means that FrameSeer can capture traffic
simultaneously in multiple windows. For example, you can capture on
Ethernet and Airport simultaneously, or run multiple captures on the same
interface (each with different filters), or grab plaintext traffic from the
loopback interface and tunneled traffic from another interface during ssh
sessions.
Capture filters are supported. Once traffic has been captured, commands
like "Select Conversation", "Select by Data-Link Source Address" or "Select
by Transport Layer Destination Protocol" make selecting and analyzing
traffic subsets a breeze. Traffic subsets can also be exported if required.
Decoding in this version concentrates on IPv4 but this will expand
according to user demand. A graphical representation of the traffic matrix
is also available but plans for additional graphics are in the works.
More information, including a demo version, can be found at:
http://www.lgosys.com/
The demo version is limited to capturing 50 packets at a time and won't
print decodes or traffic maps but is otherwise fully functional. The paid
version sells for US$49.00.
Regards, Phill
