Hi all,
In my dealings with Apple they have indicated that there is no intention of
documenting the Mail PlugIn interface, however, Mail in Panther an
AppleScript interface, I don't know whether this was there from 10.0 but
looking at the bundle contents for mail in 10.2.8 it looks scriptable as
well.
Drop '/Applications/Mail' onto '/Applications/AppleScript/Script Editor' and
the interface will be revealed.
So rather than trying to use something that is not officially provided,
won't be supported and probably will be broken as new releases happen. Use
something that is provided and probably will be supported.

Hmmm... thanks for that very useful advise :)

You're welcome.

No, anyone is perfectly free to use whatever hacks they wish. What is
unreasonable, however, is to complain when those hacks break their
system or if as a developer they make use of private API which is
subsequently changed. Or if you wish to complain, perhaps you might
first review your EULA (in particular section 2C)...

Yes, it is (although note the difference between "advertising" and
passing on announcements). See point above.
Since this thread now has nothing to do with Cocoa development, and you
appear to want to indulge in ad hominem sniping, it is now closed.
