Filling in a bug report would probably have taken less time than
composing your email.
(oh, by the way, I think the "Send a bug report to Apple" thing is
totally Microsoft-like -- even as a freeware developer, I would be
ashamed to have my users spend time to fix MY bugs, and Panther is not
freeware, it's 149.
Apple is not asking you to *fix* bugs. The recommended way of getting
*Apple* to fix bugs you find -- and which affect your work -- is to
report them. If you don't, they don't appear in anyone's in-box to
address. It's therefore generally considered to be enlightened
self-interest to report them.
However I didn't want that bug to happen to anybody here. As people
from Apple will probably read this, consider this is a bug report
(moreover, this is a bug that is likely to bother A LOT of users, so
other bug reports should follow shortly).
This most certainly will *not* be considered as a bug report. The only
official channel is through the official bug reporting tool.
