I hadn't thought of that. Interesting. I wonder what uses could be made of
somebody's MAC address?
Hey, I'm a lawyer, I ought to be able to figure it out. Let's see. The FBI
finds a database of purloined iTunes downloads on a machine where they've
just executed a search warrant, and by golly there's a UUID associated with
each of the records. The FBI of course has a copy of my QSW_UUID framework
(which is free, so it meets Congressional budget requirements), so they whip
up a little Cocoa utility that extracts the MAC address from the UUIDs (yes,
you can do that with QSW_UUID). They discover that some of the UUIDs in the
database contain the MAC address of MY COMPUTER! Apple probably has a
database of all the MAC addresses on machines they've sold, so I'm DEAD
MEAT. Yikes! Now, where did I put that file shredder utility, anyway....
