Yes, he was talking about the fact that it contains the (unique) MAC address of your Ethernet card, which means that the source of a document file containing a UUID can be determined at a later date. I believe this has been used in court to demonstrate that a particular e.g. Word document came from a particular person's PC.

Having said that, most Ethernet cards allow the end-user to change the MAC address (but please don't, because vendors of Ethernet hardware *purchase* unique address ranges... if you alter your address, there might be a clash, which can cause a *lot* of trouble).
