You may want to try looking at OpenOffice or Abiword source code, and
see if they have an isolated library to do this.
If it doesn't come with our O/S, then we should probably ask Apple to
include it.
This way, we would probably have Microsoft changing the formats every
other day, just to keep us incompatible, however, all software that
takes advantage of such a framework, would stay up to date, each time
we get the framework updated.
Just like printing to PDF and built-in PDF support and support for
various image types, I believe we should have a .doc reader. :)
-However, I don't know about virus and all that stuff, reading the .doc
format should probably run all those 'side-effects' in a virtual
space... ;)
