You may want to try looking at OpenOffice or Abiword source code, and
see if they have an isolated library to do this.
If it doesn't come with our O/S, then we should probably ask Apple to
include it.
Better still, try wvware, which is a library (wv) that can read Word
document files and a set of utilities for converting it to a variety of
different formats.
