Well, keep in mind that the average hacker does not have a cluster of a
few thousand super computers which he can use to attack your license
key scheme -- so the numbers given as "secure" by RSA Security or
similar institutes should probably be taken with a grain of salt.
Actually, if I ever get around to implementing [elliptic-curve
cryptography] it would probably be something I would be willing to
make open source! [...]
There are already open source implementations of ECC. Actually, it
seems that the version of OpenSSL from the 21th of april 2003 contain
Sun's contribution for EEC, where the version distributed by Apple is
from the 10th of april 2003. What a bummer... ;)
