What a bastard! You should be able to dramatically decrease his
downloads, though, if you contact MacUpdate and VersionTracker (if it's
on there as well) and ask them to remove the listing. If people don't
know about his pirated app or can't find it, they'll be more likely to
download your legitimate one instead...

Hi all,
One of my applications that I develop, iPodRip, has been copied by
another developer and this person is distributing it.
The copying is complete, from the Info.plist, to the executable code
(its iPodRip's executable byte for byte) to the nibs. The only things
that were changed were the icons, the name and the about box. It looks
like its just the old iPodRip bundle with the icons changed.
Here is the website:

Here is the actual application:

Sadly the contact information given is incorrect and I can't contact
the 'developer'.
I was wondering, is there any ideas you guys could give me as to how
to stop this person distributing the app? Any assistance is greatly
appreciated. This is definitely a first for me and I have heard of no
other application being copied in this way.
Thanks in advance,
Mat
p.s. I have posted to both cocoa-dev and macosx-dev in case you get a
duplicate as I read both
