No they won't. It is perfectly normal and standard to cache paths

Not in the bulk of the experience for the vast majority of Mac users. Caching paths was explicitly wrong on the Mac between 1987 and 2000.


and you can't say how many apps would break if you allow moving them
while running.

Then, bluntly, the app was already broken in that it was relying on some value to be constant with no such guarantee.
