You should. I thought Cocoa was absolutely beyond redemption, and that all
the other "Cocoa in three easy spoonfuls" authors should be smacked in the
mouth for the amazing assumptions they make, and the trivial details they
don't explain, which can render your application stillborn.
Then I read Hillegass and suddenly the little light came on.
Anyone starting Cocoa who doesn't read Hillegass is pushing "the proverbial"
up hill with a very pointed stick...

You betcha. Been there, done that, didn't help.

Personally, I'd say "be proud". Its exactly the "information" I needed,
despite the fact that I managed to crash it by dragging text back/forward in
the hex editor ;-)
