I've never seen named groupings in a regex implementation based on PCRE. Perhaps it's new?

I haven't actually tested, but I've heard OgreKit is faster (and it's definitely more powerful, as PCRE doesn't support things like named groups or at least one of the other things in OgreKit).

I can't speak to speed, since I wasn't able to download OgreKit last time I tried. PCRE appears to support named groups, however, according to http://www.pcre.org/pcre.txt (unless I'm getting the terminology mixed up).
