Everything is managed from your eSellerate Publisher account. You can add or remove products, change SKU prices, track sales and customers, manage returns (and fulfillment if you're shipping goods), set up automatic CD fulfillment (which gives the customer the option to purchase a CD with their software and we'll burn and ship the CD ourselves), and quite a few other things that I won't list here ;). We also offer an affiliate program and portals to increase your sales channels. If you're worried about piracy, you can use our Product Activation feature to tie a serial number to a specific machine, so peopel can't just post your serial number on warez boards and register your software as many times as they like.

Robert,

First, congratulations on finishing your app! ;) As for pursuing a sales model for your app I fully recommend eSellerate. I am in no way affiliated with Josh (quoted above) or eSellerate, I'm just a satisfied developer that is using their system. Their target market is in selling software and they do a very good job of it. They provide a lot of tools that are geared towards selling software.

Some of the things that I really like:

- Customers can buy your application from within the product (It's as easy as selecting "Buy..." from a menu or clicking on a button), there is no need to purchase from the web. This purchasing process also allows you to automatically download a serial number to your app when it is bought so that the user doesn't need to enter it manually.
- Online web store - They'll create a professional online store for you.
- They have automatic serial number generation - They'll send an email to the customer and to you, everything is automated.
- Everything can be managed through their web site.
- Support is pretty prompt - I send them email when I have problems and usually get an answer within a few hours.
- Direct deposit - your payment can be directly deposited into your bank account.

The only complaint that I have is that their payments lag a bit behind the billing period. You get paid once a month, but the payment usually comes 2-3 weeks after the billing period ends. But it is consistent and they do always make the payment, so it doesn't matter much to me that it takes a little while to come.

They provide all these services with no up front fees. Your only cost is 10% of whatever you sell. (If you sell in large volume then this percentage goes up to a max of 15%).

Again, I'm not affiliated with eSellerate, but I'm very happy with the services they provide.
