It looks like Mail also writes to com.apple.internetconfig.plist

I couldn't get Mail.app to update that file. Was your home directory
copied over from pre-OS 10.3?
However, I'm not sure if it would be a good idea to use this file.
There is always a chance that one of your users isn't using one of
these mail clients and forcing someone to set up an account in Mail
just to get your application working might not be acceptable. I'm sure
not all email clients write to this file (and if they do, I could
foresee conflicts).
Yeah I was thinking of using it to pick some good defaults for the
user, but having the actual config be in my app's preferences.
That said, I wonder why apple decided to stop using a system
preference pane (ie well known common location) to store this info.
This may be what com.apple.internetconfig has become. Does anyone know
or have any ideas why apple made this change?
What I'm wondering too.
