Hello,

I have found the solution thanks to the Directory Services team at
Apple. Basically, Directory Services can be queried to check whether a
user can be authenticated, so I've wrapped a simple function which does
that. I think the code is a bit long for the forum, so if you're
interested please contact me offline.

Regards,
