in segments... find me a FTP client from the last decade which can't
resume downloads...

Oh how I agree with you on this one. I'm currently trying to download the damned thing and it's causing me grief with broadband - I can't imagine what it was like on dialup.

The problem:

o Search for it: Apple's site -> Developer -> xCode -> ADC -> Tools -> Yey! Found it!
o Download it: get a weird purple ftp cube thing on my desktop
o Drag files from cube to local machine: Finder throws a fit and beachballs to a halt
o Lots of error messages saying the remote machine is inaccessable
o Disconnect: Finder throws a fit and beachballs to a halt
o Try again
o Drag files from cube to local machine: Finder throws a fit and beachballs to a halt
o Finder moans that the files exist locally
o Delete the 0 byte ones - can't they're in use - Finder throws a fit and beachballs to a halt
o Logout
o Try again
o etc

Surely there is a better way to distribute than this!!! It would work better if Apple posted it on BitTorrent or supplied some ed2k links!

Rant over - just four more segments to go...
