One suggestion before you start down this path. Ask your users if this is what they want. Many FCP users really hate the windows with the tiny title bars, etc. Just check out the Los Angeles Final Cut Pro User's Group Top 10 FCP features poll at:

and look at the interface tweaks section. On a monitor with really dense pixels,those tiny windows are hard to grab correctly!
