all the nice NSLog output that I usually see in console.log is
not visible on the users systems.
I have seen this exact problem. It was caused by using the Jaguar
version
of Console under Panther.
Hmm. Could be - I'm not sure what upgrade path was followed on the
systems where it is arising. Is it a known feature that Console.app
has not been updated when Jaguar > Panther upgrades have been done?
Thanks for the tip - we have at least two machines showing this
behaviour and it is sort of reassuring that someone else has seen the
same thing (even better that you know of a cause!). Misery loves
company...
