Getting event details in action: selector

Hi,
I have searched the archives but have not found a suitable answer. I have a
simple cocoa library that places an NSStatusItem on the menu bar without a
menu associated with it. I have set the target and action to receive the event
which is working correctly. What I need is to be able to retrieve the event
code (i.e right mouse down, left mouse down etc) and the mouse position
coordinates in the my action selector. How is this possible?
Regards
Ian Thurbon.
