Looking for Cocoa Example: NSView

Hi,

I am looking for an example of implementing a way Finder behaves in my own app.
I am not making a Finder like app, I just want to know how finder does something.

In the left hand side of the finder there are those shortcuts, you click on one and then in the right box it shows the files.
Well in my app I am going to have a list of users of the system with their icon next to them, like the way it shows in Accounts in the System
Preferences.

basically I would like to know if there is an example of showing how to do this, have the icon show up and text next to it,
I am assuming it is within a NSView, but I don't know where to begin with this.

Thanks,
Matt
