Hello...

The carbon menu implementation that does the actual display of the menu will cache the images and menu items when it is displayed. While 200MB does seem a bit large, it could be normal. There could also be other "behind the scenes" things going on if this is the first time any menu has been displayed, etc, that increases the memory amount and which only seems to be added because of that menu.
