I've run some more tests over the last few hours, and I'm convinced
that the OSX help system is broken--perhaps a 10.3.6 bug.
I tried copying the help files from an earlier application of mine into
my new application. The help files work correctly. I change all of
the values to what I need them to be in the new app; page source, image
files, etc. except for two:
CFBundleHelpBookName = "My App Name";
<meta name="AppleTitle" content="My App Name"/>
The Help Viewer works correctly, even now. However as soon as I change
these two values, the Help Viewer gives me nothing. My conclusion is
that in 10.3.6, the Help Viewer is unable to register new help books.
Can anyone confirm or challenge this conclusion?
I am now going to play around with Carbon's AHRegisterHelpBook; though
it should not be necessary, perhaps it will at least work.

Yes, I know this has been discussed before, but I've been everywhere
and continue to get a blank Help Viewer page when loading my
application's help book.
I've tried everything mentioned at the following places:

and a few others....
I've deleted preference and cache files for Help Viewer and my own
application, I've even re-installed Help Viewer.
Is anyone else having trouble getting this to work? I'm wondering if
the Help Viewer maybe got screwed up in 10.3.6 yesterday... This is
my fourth Panther application so far, so I really don't think I'm
missing anything.
