I see that, at this point in my Cocoa education, I've
been relying too much on textbooks and sample apps and not using Cocoa

didn't implement the Info.plist entry correctly. Fixing that at least
the app doesn't crash now.
In the particular case of help content, I (think I) know where to look
and I'm still kind of disappointed with the documentation that seems to
be available. Bloody murder figuring out how a prefPane can get its
content up in the "System Preferences" Help menu, as the docs promise
you can. I've figured it out, finally, if anyone needs it. Aside from
being incomplete, the documentation on that topic has some unfortunate
typos.
