It's a very new feature - are you using the Xcode 1.5 update?
I have observed other oddities like "I've unchecked the preference
saying
'make a backup when saving' but Interface Builder is still creating
HexWindow~.nib for me on every save". Or perhaps I'm
mis-understanding what
it means, or perhaps the ~.nib files are only there because its
crashing...
Are you certain it's still creating new backups? Unchecking that option
just stops IB from creating new backups, it won't cause it to delete
any old ones.
