I RTFM'd and checked the archives and did not find an answer to this
question...
Short version: How do I get an NSPatternColor for metal in Mac OS X
10.2.x?
Long version: In one product we use NSColor's -windowBackgroundColor
method to get the window's background color. In Mac OS X 10.3.x, this
method returns a pattern that matches the window style. In Mac OS X
10.2.8, this method appears to always returns the aqua style, even if
the window uses the metal style. How do I work around this?
