This is getting OT, so please don't reply to this on-list...
"smime.p7s" files are the digital signature files used for encrypting
S/MIME messages to clients that support S/MIME, such as Apple Mail and
Outlook. Unfortunately, there are a few E-Mail clients (I'm looking at
you, Eudora...) that store attachments separately from messages, so
every time someone sends a signed message to the list, they will put
the signature into the attachments folder.
There are several solutions to this problem:
1. Petition the list admins to bring back Demime (which means we may
possibly go back to 7-bit E-Mail again, so I don't really like this
option)
2. Switch to an E-Mail client that has better attachment or S/MIME
support (at least for reading list mail)
3. Use Cron to automate cleaning up smime.p7s files
