I'm trying to track down a bug in my Cocoa app that has a number of
symptoms at different times (mostly crashing in an NSAutoreleasePool
release operation). One thing that keeps coming up in console logs
around the issue is this recuring message:
Sep 11 14:49:07 Kitchen-iBook WindowServer[693]: Reserved range
exhausted. (0xbbf98000 to 0xbc019000 goes out of bounds)
Sep 11 14:55:45 Kitchen-iBook WindowServer[693]: Reserved range
exhausted. (0xbbf98000 to 0xbc00a000 goes out of bounds)
Sep 11 14:58:10 Kitchen-iBook WindowServer[693]: Reserved range
exhausted. (0xbbf98000 to 0xbc01d000 goes out of bounds)
Sep 11 14:58:52 Kitchen-iBook WindowServer[693]: Reserved range
exhausted. (0xbbf98000 to 0xbc033000 goes out of bounds)
(37 instances skipped)
Sep 12 12:09:02 Kitchen-iBook WindowServer[693]: Reserved range
exhausted. (0xbbf98000 to 0xbc134000 goes out of bounds)
Sep 12 12:09:54 Kitchen-iBook WindowServer[693]: Reserved range
exhausted. (0xbbf98000 to 0xbc021000 goes out of bounds)
What does this mean? I know the WindowServer handles application
windows and is a parent process to all user apps. But what am I to make
of this, if anything?
