Why shouldn't you be able to use a tab view then? Depending on what you're doing, you can load the plugin's views into an existing tab created in IB, or you can even programmatically add tabs to a tab view IIRC.


Of course, if you can require 10.3 or higher, you can just use setHidden: to hide whatever container view you have and forget about the tab.
