How to get custom widgets into nib file window ?

Hello,

I hope there is someone out there who can help. I have a custom IBPalette that contains a subclass of NSView. I'd like to be able to drag this view subclass from the palette directly into the top level nib file window, (similar to dragging the 'Custom View' representation in the standard IB view palette which then creates a base NSView object in the nib file. Experimenting with various methods of the IBViewProtocol and others has not been successful. Is there a trick to get the nib file window to accept a widget from a palette ? Is it even possible using custom palette widgets or is it something that can only be done inside IB itself ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Bob M
