Red Info.plist

I am wondering if my Info.plist is corrupted, as all items containing < > are shown in red. For example:

<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>CFBundleDevelopmentRegion</key>
</string>
</key>


I am running Xcode 1.5 and Mac OS X 10.3.8. My syntax color preferences don't use red, and I have changed the preferences.
